Animatic evaluation

I have successfully finished my animatic. I am happy with my timings, I think I have made the most of 25 seconds and successfully created an aura of suspense within it.

The sound effects I have used are placeholders, I will use a few of those effects but I am going to add some more to intensify the aliens entrance, maybe some sinister clicking noises would go well too. I will also louden the sound up until the moment when he turns round and sees the cute pathetic alien, to intensify the drama even further as I feel my animatic doesn't quite heighten enough. I love the contrast with the comedic scream, it adds value to the humour which arises from seeing the pathetic small alien on the floor in his towering shadow.

I feel I have incorporated enough backshots to create suspense, I tried to incorporate more but I needed to establish the setting and what he is doing on the moon (rather than the astronaut just being stationary from the back the whole time) and in 25 seconds that is all I could add whilst still remaining sense in the animation.

What I liked best about my animatic is how I keyframed a "Parallax" effect that added more life to an otherwise stationary shot.

Overall, I think I have been very successful in creating a great guide to work to when I begin production. I have even included setting and background references. Seen as I have done some character development I decided to include my rendered editions to make a very detailed animatic to aid me further.
